The Church Street Project...

The Church Street Project is a registered charity founded in 2004 in Church Street, Folkestone providing Counselling and Creative Therapies to young people in the Shepway area. We came about due to large number of young people in the Shepway area with mental health issues who were placed on waiting lists for counselling-sometimes up to 2 years long. No service catered for the needs of those who were unable or unwilling to engage in conventional talking therapies. Creative therapy offers alternative ways of communicating difficulties and emotional trauma.

The project offers young people the opportunity to access therapeutic support. Many of the young people we work with have experienced trauma and conflict in their lives – we provide them with a consistent confidential service where they can express and explore the disruptions they are facing.
